§ 2-48. Office of the city clerk-treasurer.

  • (a)

    Duties as set forth in A.C.A. § 14-43-506 and all duties as required by state law. Such duties shall be delegable to city employees or officials as permitted by state law, specifically including, but not limited to financial duties and tasks, as permitted in state law.

    (b)

    The clerk-treasurer shall attend city council meetings and city council work sessions, and shall take and prepare minutes as required by state law and shall sign the minutes after city council approval of them.

    (c)

    The city clerk-treasurer shall sign documents as required by state law.

    (d)

    Salary. The salary of the clerk-treasurer shall be set forth in the city budget and shall comply with state law.

    (e)

    A city staff employee who lives in the City of Lowell shall be appointed as deputy city clerk and shall sign documents and perform other duties required by state law to be performed by the clerk-treasurer when the clerk-treasurer is unavailable. The city administrative coordinator shall perform any other duties of the clerk-treasurer, as permitted by state law.
