§ 22-3. Discharge of firearms, explosives, etc.

  • (a)

    No person shall fire or discharge a firearm, pistol, or any powder or explosive within the city limits without written permission of the mayor. Such permission shall limit the time that the person may engage in such activity, and such permission may be revoked at any time.

    (b)

    No person shall fire or discharge a firearm, pistol, or any powder or explosive matter within the city limits for the purpose of hunting any animal or fowl. The mayor shall not have authority to waive the provisions of this subsection.

    (c)

    The mayor shall use his sound discretion when exercising the authority provided in subsection (a) of this section.

    (d)

    Any disagreement with the decision of the mayor in granting or denying permission as provided in subsection (a) of this section may be appealed to the city council.
